    LOCATION DESCRIPTION

Gunsan Dongguksa Temple, built during the Japanese colonial period, is the only Japanese-style temple in Korea. Unlike other temples in Korea, where the main hall (Daeungjeon) and living quarters (yosachae) are separated, Dongguksa has an indoor corridor connecting the two. Unlike Korean temples, which are known for their colorful decorative patterns, this temple features minimal decoration and many windows on the outer wall of the main hall, reflecting Japanese architectural style.
