    LOCATION DESCRIPTION

The port, which is located in a natural breakwater setting and is not easily visible from sea or land, served as the naval headquarters of Chungcheong during the Joseon Dynasty, defending against Japanese pirate invasions and protecting supply ships heading to Hanyang (Seoul). It still retains the vibrant and warm atmosphere of a Korean fishing village, and in 2019, it became a hot topic as a filming location for parts of the KBS2 drama When the Camellia Blooms.
