    LOCATION DESCRIPTION

Jagalchi Market, located in Nampo-dong, Busan, is the largest seafood market in South Korea. It was formed during the Japanese colonial period and became a hub for seafood distribution after liberation, with fishing boats from Geoje, Chungmu, and Namhae in South Gyeongsang Province, as well as Yeosu in South Jeolla Province frequenting the area. The market grew rapidly after 1950, following the influx of refugees from the Korean War. Stalls selling shellfish and seafood are lined up densely, resembling a sea exhibition.
