    LOCATION DESCRIPTION

Originally established in the early 1960s for mulberry cultivation, the farm later shifted to growing watermelon and peanuts before starting to cultivate barley in the early 1990s. Today, green barley grows in the spring, sunflowers in the summer, and buckwheat in the fall — each season celebrated with lively festivals. Gochang’s green barley is at its peak from April to early May, turning golden by mid-May. Though it loses some of its fresh vibrancy, the golden waves of barley in late spring and autumn are equally stunning.
